| The Bremen Airport started life in 1913 and since then has grown from strength to strength to become one of the most modern airports in Europe. In the 1920's the airport had already established a strong network of routes to various European destinations and by the 1930's the airport began to introduce larger aircraft and higher standards for passenger comfort. Today the airport which is located about 3.5 km from the Bremen city centre, handles over 1.5 million passengers annually and has a huge variety of facilities for travellers to enjoy with modern up to date technology and the highest safety standards making it a pleasure to use. |

| The airport is situated 3.5 km from the centre of Bremen and is well signposted from all directions and can be reached via the Autobahn A1, Arsten exit. |
| Bremen Airport Facilities |
| Facilities at the Bremen Airport include car hire companies such AVIS, Budget, Europcar, HERTZ, Vanguard and SIXT as well as long and short term parking and a visitors' terrace which is open daily from 05:00 h to 23:00 h. Admission to the terrace is free of charge. Other facilities include a kid’s lounge located on the ground floor of Terminal 1, to the right of the check-in desks. Use of the Lounge is free of charge and there is also a Babycare room in the foreign flights waiting room in Terminal 1 and another in the baggage reclaim hall of Terminal 2. The Bremen airport has various shops selling almost anything from gifts and books to tabacco located on the ground floor of terminal 1as well as restaurants and bars located in the departures area of terminal 1 and 3. The airport is fully equiped for disabled passengers with disabled toilet facilities, wheelchair-accessible public telephone booths, lifts, stair lift in Terminal 3 (self-operated) and a guide system for the blind between car park, tram stop and Terminal. The signs on and in lifts as well as a layout plan are marked in Braille. |
